About Adam

Hello! I’m Adam. With an extensive background as a professional chef and my current role as a Senior Independent End Point Assessor (SEPA) for national hospitality qualifications, both front and back of house, I bridge the gap between practical skills and academic excellence.
I know exactly what it takes to run a restaurant or function space and a high-pressure kitchen, but more importantly, I know exactly what examiners and awarding bodies are looking for. Every week, I grade portfolios, conduct professional discussions, and observe practical assessments. I see firsthand where students excel and where they drop critical marks.
Whether you are an apprentice aiming for a Distinction, a student struggling with hospitality theory, or a hospitality worker looking to level up your career, I offer the industry-insider coaching you need to succeed.

About the lesson

EPA Support
During a FREE up to 30 minute 'Discovery Call'. We will look at the apprenticeship standard you are on, the assessments you feel you need help with and how I can support before you make a decision to go forward.
My lessons are entirely bespoke, designed to strip away the anxiety of formal assessments and give you actionable, structured frameworks. I don't just teach theory; I teach you how to demonstrate your knowledge to an assessor.
What we can focus on in our sessions:
EPA & Exam Preparation: Master the Professional Discussion, clear the hurdle of the tests, and learn how to showcase your skills during practical observations.
Portfolio & Project Evidence: Learn how to structure your workplace logs, write clear reflections, and compile a portfolio that meets every single grading criterion.
Culinary & Operational Theory: Simplifying complex topics such as food safety compliance, supply chain management, kitchen financials (GP margins, waste control), and operational workflows.
Confidence & Interview Coaching: Overcome exam nerves and practice mock professional discussions in a supportive, constructive environment before your actual gateway.
