I’m a passionate music fan and student, constantly exploring new genres and improving my skills. Over the years, I’ve played in bands across different styles, which has helped me develop a versatile approach to music. I love sharing my passion for music with others, whether through teaching or collaborating, and I’m always eager to inspire fellow musicians to explore and grow. I believe music should be available to everyone and I am dedicated to making that happen

About the lesson

I'm a passionate music educator with a Music Honours degree from Kingston University. I have experience playing live in different genres and backgrounds as well as recording music at home through DAWs. I’m dedicated to helping students of all ages and backgrounds explore the joy of playing guitar. My teaching approach is rooted in key educational methodologies, ensuring that each lesson is tailored to suit the individual needs of the student. I incorporate differentiated learning, so that you’ll receive a customised experience based on your current skills, pace, and learning style. I also use gamification to make the learning process enjoyable and engaging and scaffolding to break down complex concepts into manageable steps, so you can build confidence and skill over time. The foundation of my teaching is based on proven psychological theories such as the Humanistic Approach, which focuses on your personal growth and self-expression through music. I also embrace Self-Determination Theory, which emphasises intrinsic motivation and autonomy in learning. Additionally, I integrate Experiential Learning, where you will learn by doing—whether that’s through playing real songs, improvising, or applying music theory in a practical way. My lessons are one hour long, though I’m happy to extend them if you’d like to dive deeper into the material. We can focus on learning songs that inspire you, or I can teach you the tools to improvise and incorporate music theory into your guitar playing, allowing you to take your skills to the next level. I believe learning an instrument should be fun, rewarding, and available to everyone. No matter your age or background, I am here to help you grow as a musician and unlock your full potential on the guitar! Looking forward to making music with you!
