About Sarishka
Hi! My name is Ishiqa, and I am an honors Grade 12 student at Fusion Collegiate with strong academic achievements in math and the sciences. I am passionate about helping students learn in a way that feels supportive, encouraging, and confidence-building. Alongside my studies, I work as a veterinary technician assistant and physiotherapist assistant, experiences that have strengthened my communication, patience, responsibility, and ability to work with people of all ages.
I also volunteer at the Arthur J.E. Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre, where I have learned the importance of compassion, professionalism, and creating a positive environment for others. In addition, I have over 3 years of experience teaching and mentoring children ages 4–14. I previously worked as a youth leader at a martial arts studio in Calgary while training toward my black belt, where I helped younger students build discipline, confidence, and focus both inside and outside the classroom.
As a tutor, I believe every student learns differently, so I tailor my teaching approach to match each child’s learning style and pace. My goal is not only to improve grades, but also to help students feel more confident and comfortable with math. I create a friendly, patient, and professional learning environment where students feel supported and motivated to succeed.
I genuinely enjoy working with children and helping them reach their full potential, whether they need homework support, test preparation, or extra practice to strengthen their understanding of math concepts.

I am a Grade 11 honors student at Fusion Collegiate with a strong passion for teaching and helping students build confidence in math. I work with students from Grades 1–10 and focus on creating a supportive, patient, and encouraging learning environment where every student feels comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace. I also have experience working with children and students with different learning styles and disabilities, which has helped me develop flexible and understanding teaching techniques.
My teaching approach is personalized for each student. I start by understanding what they already know, what they struggle with, and how they learn best. I explain concepts step-by-step using simple language, examples, visuals, and practice questions to make math easier to understand. I believe students learn best when they feel supported and not pressured, so I focus on building both skills and confidence.
A typical lesson usually begins with reviewing previous material and answering any questions the student may have. Then we work through new concepts together, followed by guided practice and independent questions to make sure they fully understand the topic. I also help students prepare for quizzes, tests, homework, and assignments while teaching useful study habits and problem-solving skills.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my patience, communication skills, and ability to connect with younger students. Since I am also a student myself, I understand the challenges students face in school today and can explain concepts in a relatable and easy-to-understand way. I genuinely enjoy helping children succeed and making learning a positive experience.
My lessons are for elementary and junior high students from Grades 1–10 who want extra support, homework help, test preparation, or stronger math skills and confidence. I welcome students of all abilities and learning styles.
