About Stephen

I'm a high-achieving high school student, going into my junior year. I have taken all honors/AP classes when available. In my spare time, I play the piano, practice MMA, listen to music, and play video games to relax. I am also a Life Scout, and am the Senior Patrol Leader of my troop.

About the lesson

My typical lesson plan looks like:
- first introducing/reviewing concept(s)
- practicing using what was introduced/reviewed
- building onto what was already learned, slightly adding to the learned concepts
- if possible, taking the concepts learned and using them in hypothetical real-world scenarios

What sets me apart from other tutors is my ability to cater to students' needs. If students need more time reviewing a concept, or need something explained in a different way, I can do that. If students need more practice problems, I'm happy to provide them. Also, since I teach high school & middle school, my students' would be learn from someone closer in age, relieving the stress of learning from someone impossible to relate with.

Perfect! Stephen was great! There was a last minute change of plans as the library was closed but he quickly adjusted to make sure the session was completed. He worked through my son’s struggles in biology and helped him understand the basic principles he has been having a hard time with. Definitely booking another session!

He is a great math tutor. He explains concepts well in a way that's easy to understand, and he is very patient. He also does not make you feel dumb for not knowing, but rather is encouraging and will celebrate with you when you get a concept.
