About Shayla
My name is Shayla and I am a 22 year old female with excellent customer service skills and excellent skills regarding English literature, I am great with working with younger people as I raised my younger sibling for most of her life and I achieved extremely high grades during high school, as well as high levels in University while studying Law and Criminology, I also studied journalism and creative writing at University. I want to teach because I love studying English literature and everything regarding that field, and hope to base my career around it after gaining some travel experience. I also love to use my brain and strongly encourage others to use it as well, learning can actually be rather fun and I strive to making every lesson enjoyable and fun for both parties.

Once I’ve been told what the student needs help with, I create a study plan where the student and I will have 45 minute sessions (willing to go longer if needed, just need to only ask) going over an assignment or going through what the student needs help with. I can help them understand concepts a bit better and listen to any of their concerns about the topics. My favourite thing to do is learn what type of learner the student is and base the session around that, such as visual cues or types of activities about the subject. My lessons are typically for high school students, however I’m open to working with primary school students.
