About Slay

Hi! I'm a dedicated and enthusiastic student with a strong passion for English. Whether it's writing essays, analyzing literature, or helping others improve their grammar and vocabulary, English has always been my favorite subject and strongest skill. I have consistently performed at the top of my class and have experience helping classmates with their writing, reading comprehension, and exam prep. As a teenager myself, I understand the challenges students face when learning English in school—especially when it comes to writing clearly, thinking critically, or building confidence. I'm patient, supportive, and really enjoy breaking down complex topics into simple, understandable steps. If you're looking for someone who can explain things in a relatable way and help you grow as a student, I’d love to work with you!

Teaching Method and Techniques: I believe in a personalized and student-centered approach to teaching English. I begin by assessing each student's strengths, areas for growth, learning style, and goals—whether they’re aiming for academic success, professional fluency, or conversational confidence. My lessons are rooted in clarity, engagement, and relevance. I use a blend of grammar instruction, vocabulary building, real-world application, and critical thinking exercises to help learners internalize the language, not just memorize it. I also emphasize interactive learning—using discussion, reading analysis, writing prompts, and multimedia content—to ensure students remain actively involved and motivated. A Typical Lesson Plan: Each lesson is structured with the following format: Warm-Up (5–10 minutes): A short activity to review previous material or introduce the day's topic (e.g., a quote discussion, a vocabulary challenge, or a short article excerpt). Core Focus (30–40 minutes): This includes targeted learning depending on the student’s goal—grammar explanations with examples, reading comprehension, writing practice, or speaking drills. For students preparing for exams (e.g., IELTS, TOEFL), I incorporate sample questions and model answers. Practice and Application (10–15 minutes): Engaging in exercises, roleplays, writing tasks, or discussions to apply what was just learned. Feedback and Recap (5–10 minutes): We review progress, clarify any confusion, and set goals for the next lesson. What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor: I tailor every session to the student’s specific needs and personality, making learning not just effective but enjoyable. I also place a strong emphasis on confidence-building—many students know the language but fear using it. I create a safe, supportive environment that encourages risk-taking and celebrates progress. With a background in both academic and creative English, I bring depth to my lessons, helping students not only understand the language, but also think and express themselves powerfully through it.
