About Alex
I have been teaching in the Columbus area for over ten years. I have maintained a studio of up to 34 students and have also taught at the Wellington School and at various guitar classes and workshops throughout Columbus. I have had a full range of students from beginner to very advanced and worked with students on guitar, bass guitar, piano, ukulele and banjo. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Music composition from the University of Akron and and a Master of Music in Music Composition from Cleveland State University.

My lessons are centered on understanding music and going beyond what people typically find on YouTube tutorials.
I typically have new students learn how to play songs they recognize so they can start playing as soon as possible before jumping into more advanced material. For more experienced students, I try to make sure they have a good foundation for hearing music and paying attention to details.
