  • Do you speak this language fluently because of your origins or because a teacher inspired you to learn?

I speak Spanish and English fluently because of my origins. I am from Argentina and Spanish is my native language. I've learned English since I was in kindergarten because of my parents' decision. I was able to excel in both languages because of my parents. They were always focused on giving me the best education possible that was within their reach. They inculcate me to read all kinds of things, from books to newspapers and magazines. They also reminded me how fortunate I was to learn English, which I believed I understood and took advantage of.
  • Can you name a living, historical or fictional character that you think is the emblematic representative of the language's culture?

From where I come from there is no emblematic figure of my language culture. I was born in the 90', so I learnt Spanish in school, reading and watching TV. If I have to mention a living character that would be my Spanish language teacher Claudia. She was a very patient but demanding teacher that was always willing to explain and answer every question you may have.

For the English language, I will always be grateful to the Gameboy console of Nintendo. I was able to learn English indirectly by playing Pokemon Sapphire. At first, I did not understand some words or slang. However, after playing the game for a while I was able to get a better grasp of English.
  • Is there a typical word, phrase, tradition or behavior in the language that you particularly like?

In Argentina we have plenty of slang, as compared to other South American countries. One that I particularly like is "Che", which is like calling someone's attention but in a kind manner.

In English, I really like the phrase "It is what it is". This phrase can be used in any situation. It is my belief that it means I did everything I can, now it is up to the universe to do its play.
  • Why does speaking this language matter to you?

Speaking these languages matters to me as I am able to speak two languages (Spanish and English) that are widely used in the world.Through this knowledge I am able to communicate with people from different parts of the world and get a different perspective of life, just simply by talking.
  • What is the main difficulty in learning this language and what can help the process of learning?

In my experience, the biggest hurdle for English speakers learning Spanish is mastering verb conjugations and the subjunctive mood. In English, we rely heavily on auxiliary verbs (like "would" or "could"), whereas Spanish requires changing the verb ending itself, which can feel overwhelming at first.

What helps the process is immersion and pattern recognition. Instead of memorizing endless grammar tables, I encourage students to consume content they genuinely enjoy—like music, telenovelas, or podcasts. This helps the brain absorb the patterns naturally. In my lessons, I focus on speaking from day one; making mistakes is not only allowed but encouraged, as it is the fastest path to fluency.
  • Provide a valuable anecdote related to your language learning or your days at school.

One of the most valuable lessons I learned wasn't in a classroom, but at a home. My parents do not know how to speak in English, so everytime I had to practice my Speaking skills I would do it alone. I remember that they might go through my bedroom door and I would be speaking in English and then I would realize that they had no clue what I was talking about. That is one of those moments I realized that I was a lucky person, by being able to learn a skill that not so many people can learn.
  • How has travel or a specific trip helped you to increase your skill and knowledge of the language?

Travel has been my most intense language school. Specifically, spending time in London, UK completely shifted my understanding of "correct" language. I remember arriving in at Wimbledon, a few minutes away from London city and realizing that the textbook Spanish/English I knew was very different from the street slang people actually used. For example, I had to quickly learn local idioms just to order coffee or understand directions. At first, I was embarrassed to ask people to repeat themselves, but I soon realized that locals appreciated the effort.

That trip taught me resilience and adaptability. It showed me that communication isn't about perfection; it's about connection. Now, when I teach, I bring that real-world perspective. I teach students the slang, the shortcuts, and the culture, so when they travel or speak with a native, they don't sound like a textbook, they sound like a person.
  • What makes you a Superprof in language?

What makes me a Superprof is my ability to act as a bridge, not just between English and Spanish, but between the student and their goal.

Because I am a native Spanish speaker and bilingual in English, I understand the intricacies of both languages from the inside out. I know exactly why a native English speaker struggles with the Spanish "R" and why a native Spanish speaker might mix up "in" and "on" in English. This dual perspective allows me to anticipate your mistakes and correct them before they become habits. However, my greatest strength is empathy. I sat in the student's chair. I know the frustration of not being able to find the right word and the fear of sounding silly. My classroom (whether virtual or in-person) is a judgment-free zone where we celebrate progress over perfection. I don't just throw vocabulary at you; I tailor every lesson to your passions, be it travel, business, or music, to make the language come alive. I’m not just teaching you a subject; I’m giving you a tool to unlock a new version of yourself.
