About Alex
In 2016, I earned a PhD in history at the University of Western Ontario and was awarded a prestigious two-year SSHRC Postdoctoral Fellowship at Wilfrid Laurier University and the Laurier Centre for Military Strategic and Disarmament Studies. As a Canadian historian I offer a dynamic teaching portfolio that is reflected by the high quality of my peer-reviewed publications, my success with scholarship applications, my commitment to pedagogical innovation, and my willingness to engage with diverse audiences, stakeholders, and students.

In the past I have used thought-provoking questions or scenarios, technology and audio-visual cues, facilitated classroom discussions, modified content delivery to meet diverse needs, differentiated individual lesson plans and assignments, used active learning strategies, and evaluated student progress with constructive feedback.
