Maryam volunteered in our community centre, and helped many university applicants from disadvantaged backgrounds with their mathematics and english, which eventually allowed many of them to gain entrance to university in Uzbekistan. Her students commented on patience and genuine effort to help from her side, saying she explained everything using language the students would understand.
