About Ben
My name is Ben, I’m 23, and I have always had a strong belief in equal education. As someone who has struggled with dyslexia throughout their academic career, I benefited greatly from the extra help which I received from tutors. Furthermore, I strongly believe that any student has the ability to achieve highly in school if they are given a style of teaching which suits their needs. This very philosophy allowed me to study history at one of the most prestigious universities in the world despite teaching staff believing I couldn’t sit my GCSE exams. As a result I want to give other students the opportunities I was given to achieve more than they thought they ever could.

Until the age of 16 I attended a Steiner Waldorf School which accepted a high number of neurodivergent students. This has allowed me to develop a philosophy of teaching which is calm, understanding and methodical. The level and speed at which I teach is dictated entirely by the ability of the student and there is no speed which is too slow.
However, for the more advanced student, I am able to provide a high level of academic tuition which can help them to attain the highest possible grades.
My approach is based in achieving a firm understanding of basic English skills as well as developing a deep understanding of textual analysis and essay structure. These skills will allow the student to progress, not only academically, but in a professional setting as well.
