About Chase
Currently, I am studying Mechatronics Engineering at UNSW. I have studied IB History HL, graduating with 6s and 7s (the highest grades achievable for IB), founded my school's History Club, and was the second-place winner of the 2025 New Zealand History Bowl. I have been independently researching history for years, with a special interest in Modern Chinese History, East Asian History, European History, the World Wars, geopolitics, and international relations. I occasionally make Histogeopolitics YouTube content, such as simplifying/deep diving a historical event, explaining political divides, etc. When I go out with friends, we constantly discuss current world state, historical debates, and political ideologies, and people around us often look over in admiration of the high-intelligence conversation we have.

If we treat history like stories, we can make it the most fun subject in school.
I believe students should learn history rather than memorize it. Of course facts are necessary, but students perform best when they know why something happened, how people throughout history thought, and how alternative decisions may have changed our world today.
Where possible, I make my lessons as engaging and interactive as I can. As the founder and head of a History Club, I love to use activities, simulations, and group discussions to allow students to think like those in the past. Governments, countries, and historical figures. Whether it be drawing borders after a world war, running geopolitics simulations, or hosting international ‘conference’ negotiations, students learn about historical events as well as current affairs, international relations, and how to think about politics.
This doesn't mean I don't care about your child's grades. I give thorough explanations when returning essays, source analyses, research assignments, and exam papers. I will not pile on amounts of work for work's sake. I will break down difficult skills into teachable steps while keeping high expectations. You don't have to simply remember what I teach you, you will learn how to think about any topic to get the best grades on your assessments and exams.
I stand by the idea that "engagement makes lessons interesting and allows students to get hands on, understanding concepts in first person."
