About Faith
I am a patient and structured tutor committed to helping students feel more confident in GCSE History. My approach is calm and supportive, with a focus on building both understanding and exam skills step by step.
I aim to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and progressing at their own pace. I break complex topics into clear, manageable ideas and focus on what is needed to achieve higher exam marks.
I adapt my teaching to different learning styles and help students organise information into clear, structured steps, particularly when preparing for essays, revision, and exams.
As a History and Secondary Education graduate, I have a strong academic background in both subject knowledge and how students learn. This allows me to tailor explanations so they are accessible and effective for a wide range of learners.

I use a step-by-step method that combines explanation, guided discussion, and practice. We begin by clarifying key knowledge and then apply it to exam-style questions. I focus heavily on essay structure (Point, Evidence, Explain, Link) and help students understand what examiners are looking for in high-mark answers. I also support students with source analysis and interpretation skills where needed.

Lessons are typically 1 hour long. Each session usually includes:
A short recap of previous learning:
Clear teaching of a focused topic (e.g. Elizabethan England)
Guided exam practice or essay writing

I am a History and Secondary Education graduate with strong academic experience in History, particularly Early Modern and Modern topics. My studies have included education theory, which helps me understand how students learn and how to adapt explanations to different needs and abilities.
