About Alex
I am a qualified teacher of history and currently teach in a secondary school in the East Midlands. I am a graduate of History from Loughborough University and International Relations MA from Durham University. I have gained considerable experience in the fundamentals of essay writing at various levels as well as a secure understanding of the various ways potential barriers to learning and attainment can be overcome.

My teaching method can be split into two categories. Students must first possess the necessary content knowledge on the relevant subject. This can be achieved through a variety of methods with a large emphasis based on retrieval practice. Secondly, students must have a thorough understanding of the requirements of the course or question stem. This two pronged approach allows students to gain confidence and knowledge in their ability to succeed in their chosen field.
