About Arshia
As a Highschool student, I have enrolled and succeeded in multiple, very difficult classes ranging from AP US History to AP Calculus BC. I have also received tutoring from multiple people on different topics with some tutors and their style being significantly better than others. Now that I am in 12th grade, both of these types of experiences has allowed me to be extremely knowledgeable of the learning process and what separates a student who studies an hour a day and receives good grades versus a student who studies four hours every night and performs worse. The learning process is not simply memorization or studying right before the test, but a consistent routine that involves challenging problems relevant to the student. I hope my services parallels this idea.

A typical lesson plan consists of an hour session where the first 5 minutes consists of identifying weaknesses in certain areas, going over homework problems that progressively increase in difficulty until the problems are grasped fully. This pattern of identifying weaknesses and mastering them is repeated until the end of the session or multiple sessions, resulting in student mastery of a broader chapter or concept such as derivatives. During the learning process, the lessons will emphasize the student independently solving problems, asking question about their thinking/logic, and guiding them into the solution which allows the student to be properly challenged to learn. This approach prevents the student from being overwhelmed and frustrated at a problem while also preventing the process from being effortless by simply telling them how to think which leads to temporary memorization and not a conceptual understanding.
