About Somaiya
My name is Somaiya, and I am a dedicated and approachable tutor who is passionate about helping students feel confident in their learning. I chose to teach because I enjoy supporting students through challenges and helping them realize their own potential. I aim to create a professional, respectful, and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making progress at their own pace. My focus is on clear communication, patience, and building students’ confidence so they feel motivated and supported throughout their learning journey.

I take a student-focused approach to tutoring by breaking down maths concepts into clear, step-by-step explanations that build understanding and confidence, rather than relying on memorisation. Lessons run for 1 hour and include guided practice and exam-style questions, with teaching adapted to each student’s pace and ability. I achieved a study score of 43 in VCE Mathematics, giving me strong knowledge of the Year 11 curriculum and exam expectations. My lessons are suitable for Foundation students through to Year 11, whether they need extra support or want to improve their results.
