About Ingrid
I am a highly qualified Remedial Teacher, who specializes in helping people who are struggling with their English skills. English pronunciation is especially difficult for people who are not native English speakers, and I have a passion for helping people become proficient in English. People, who do not speak English as their first language, experience many difficulties in becoming proficient in English, and I am able to help them overcome their problems. I have taught many adults, coming from various countries in Africa, how to read English and pronounce the sounds correctly. I have helped children sort out their phonic confusions regarding English, because they speak African languages to their families, and the phonic structures become confused. I have taught all the way from kindergarten up to advanced tertiary level. I have taught both the British and the American systems. I have taught home educators how to teach their own children how to read. I am currently teaching three year old toddlers, teens, and adults in China how to speak and read English, with the correct pronunciation.

As a highly trained Remedial Educator, I do not use one "fits all" methodology. I apply various teaching methodologies in my classes, depending on the needs of the learner. I also use a whole brain approach in my teaching, based upon the personality and learning style of the student. I can teach both the British or American phonic system, depending on what the client wants.... and I can also adapt either to fit in with the South African accent, without reducing English to a new dialect. I am proficient in the TEFL teaching system that is commonly used to teach English to foreigners.
