About Simon
I taught Maths and Further Maths to A level and beyond for 24 years at Marlborough College and now Tutor privately.
I build Tutees’ confidence in their own ability, explaining concepts in a clear and simple way, and show them how to apply their knowledge to new and challenging problems.
I am also a subject examiner and so have a detailed knowledge of exactly what is required in exams.

“The only way to learn Mathematics is to do Mathematics”, said Paul Halmos. I will never do a problem for a student but will explain things in such a clear way that they can do it themselves.
My tutoring style is unusual in that I do virtually all of the writing - this forces the student to articulate their thoughts in a way which helps them deepen their understanding and develop confidence in their abilities.
