About Joanna

I am a fully qualified teacher (QTS) with over 20 years of tutoring experience. I tutor Maths to all ages but I have particular expertise in supporting students working towards a Grade 4 and above on the GCSE Foundation tier.

I provide high-quality, personalised tuition designed to help students build confidence, close gaps in understanding, and achieve the results they need to progress.

Alongside 6 years of full-time teaching experience in both independent and state schools, I have supported a wide range of students aged 5–16 through private tuition and the National Tutoring Programme.

This breadth of experience has given me a strong understanding of:
*The Maths Curriculum across all key stages.
*Common learning barriers in Maths.
*How to adapt teaching to suit different learning styles and abilities.

I offer high-quality, face-to-face Maths tuition in the comfort of your home, creating a calm, focused, and distraction-free environment where your child can strengthen core skills, refine exam technique, and make clear, measurable progress.

For families seeking flexibility, I also provide fully interactive online lessons via Zoom, using carefully designed resources, shared materials, and structured teaching methods to ensure each session is both engaging and highly effective.

I am known for my calm, patient, and encouraging manner, combined with a clear and methodical teaching style. I take the time to ensure each student develops a secure understanding of key mathematical concepts, while maintaining high expectations to support strong academic achievement.

All lessons are carefully planned and tailored to the individual, supported by a wide range of high-quality materials, including textbooks, exam-style questions, and bespoke resources.

Students benefit from:
*Targeted practice focused on specific areas for development.
*Extensive exposure to GCSE-style questions and exam techniques.
*Support with schoolwork, where appropriate.

Homework can be provided to reinforce learning between sessions and ensure consistent, ongoing progress.
