About Joanna

I am a fully qualified primary school teacher and have worked as a private tutor for over 20 years. I tutor Mathematics up to GCSE and English up to Year 9, and I also specialise in preparing children for the 11+.

I have six years of full-time teaching experience, working within independent and state schools. In addition, I have tutored a range of children aged between 5 and 16 years of age, privately, and within schools for the National Tutoring Covid Catch-Up Programme. As a result, I have a wide knowledge of the National Curriculum.

Education:
*Windsor Girls’ School: 9 GSCEs, all As and Bs.
*Windsor Girls’ School: 3 A Levels: Economics (B), History (C), Maths (D)
*Royal Holloway, University of London: History (BA Hons 2.1)
*Southampton University: PGCE Primary QTS

About the lesson

I offer face-to-face tuition which takes place at your home. I am a patient and caring person who can explain things clearly. In addition, I will take the time to ensure that your child understands a concept but I will also set high expectations to push them to achieve their full potential. I believe in positivity and praise to build confidence and enthusiasm, which ultimately will aid success.

I also tutor online using Zoom with shared PowerPoints and websites to create interactive lessons. I have a wide variety of books from which I provide relevant questions for students to practise. Homework can be set upon request, and I can also assist with homework set from school.
