About Dr Mike
I was one of the first group of ESoL alternative teacher certification instructors in Texas. Having taught ESoL online in 24 countries worldwide, I have had over 350 students in the last few years. I taught ESoL for young children, youngsters, youth, and adults in China, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan full-time online for a year. I have taught university classes online for students in Europe, Africa, Russia, Israel, India, Asia, and South America. I recently taught ESoL and workplace literacy to hospital employees in a large Des Moines hospital.
I have 3 PhD’s in teaching & instruction, linguistics & brain-based learning psychology, and theology & ministry, and I use the latest teaching strategies defined by research. I also teach reading and writing to all types of learners.

I use natural language development strategies that comply with the latest ESoL research. My students are constantly engaged and quickly become enthused about their growth and success. I teach a second language just the way a native speaker develops language naturally. I do not use workbooks or word list pages. Both oral language, reading, and writing are involved. I frequently use fun games and social play to practice what is taught.
I focus on different developmentally-appropriate language activities for children, youth, and adults in life-event exercises.

Details
Fees are variable, based on age and number of students in a group between $20-$30 per hour. You can pay at the time of service or one month in advance.
I am willing to travel up to 35 miles to teach. Longer distances for a modest fee.
