About SIMON
I am a composer and producer who creates live and recorded music for concert performance and various multimedia projects.
I have just returned from three wonderful years in Amsterdam in order to begin Ph.D. in composition at the Royal Northern College of Music. I have composed music for numerous ensembles, from symphony orchestras to saxophone quartets. I have myself been taught by world-class composers (including the former composer laureate of the Netherlands). I look forward to passing on the skills and experiences I gained whilst studying abroad. I will aim to provide a unique and personalized approach to music tuition, as I myself have experienced from my wonderful teachers in Amsterdam. Individuality is the key ingredient to being a musician in today's world, and I will endeavor to help my students find their own voice.
I also have two years of experience working in a special needs school in Liverpool.
My lessons will be focused but friendly and aim to bring out the best in the student.

This depends entirely on the student's needs, aims and requirements.
I am comfortable progressing through Grades (ABRSM, Trinity, Rockschool etc) within a goal-orientated structure in order for students to achieve the qualifications they need for college and university admission.
Or alternatively, if a more relaxed and flexible approach is required, I am happy to tailor a tuition blue-print based on a more individualistic approach which aims to develop the student through pieces and exercises selected to improve techniques and musicality with less rigid goals and timelines.
