About Alexandra

To be honest, I'm not a perfect student. I had a 68% in my AP Statistics class and I failed all the exams my teacher had given me, with the extremely generous curve (EXTREMELY generous). I didn't know why I took the class since my math skills weren't great at all, and in December I already accepted my fate on the AP Exam, expecting a 1. My teacher had no faith in me - and she didn't do much to hide it. Since she had no faith in me, she also never bothered to help me, which contributed to my failure. You might not feel the way I feel, but I can assure you, I understand you (even though I might not know you). Despite my statistics-flunk, I got a 5 on my Advanced Placement (AP) Exam, which I brag about all the time because I was able to accomplish that by myself, with a tiny sliver of faith. Even if you don't have it, I always will. And as an honest person, I'll be realistic with you and push you so you excel further than me. And I'll watch, and I'll be proud.

About the lesson

As someone who used to struggle with mathematics, I understand how you feel. From Algebra I, I was a mess. I didn't know how to apply the concepts and basics, and what was worse was that no one would encourage me to try - so I was put in a situation where I could only help myself. And I did. I learned how to accommodate to the teaching style I best learned with, since my teachers clearly thought it was too much work to meet me halfway. I succeeded in math classes, and earned a 5 on my AP Statistics exam. My main priority is to make sure my students are confident in the classroom, and know how to apply the knowledge I share with them to their assignments. I am a strong believer of "Practice makes Perfect", and I'll provide my students with different difficulty-leveled questions to prepare them for weekly quizzes/exams.
