About Isabella
Over the course of two years of tutoring, I have made countless new connections with the kids in my community and the peers at my school while helping them achieve their goals. I believe in fostering a desire to learn in each person I tutor, which drives me to be an understanding, patient, open-minded, and open-hearted person. Learning thrives best when there is a connection between student and tutor--I strive to create a comfortable, fun yet motivated atmosphere. I will cater to the needs of any learner with enthusiasm.

My tutor techniques are the Socratic Method and Alternation (letting the student teach me what they learned) with drills and application. A typical lesson involves firstly having the student teach me all they know in the desired subject, asking them what they don't know yet/cannot comprehend, guiding them towards new territory and asking them to infer, giving a basic lesson on the subject, and finally using application questions with assistance if necessary. I am a 17 year old who can connect with the student, have fun, and be understanding and patient all while fostering a desire to learn more. I believe strongly in positive reinforcement and I love to encourage. I am willing to teach math to elementary aged children to high schoolers.
