About Sumayya

Hi there! I’m SUMAYYA JAHAN, a high school student passionate about math, and I know firsthand how challenging it can feel to wrap your head around new concepts. That’s why I love helping younger students (Grades 1–8) with math. I believe everyone can do well in math if they have the right guidance, and I want to be the person who helps make those tricky problems easier to understand. I’ve always enjoyed math, and I know that the right explanation can make a world of difference. I want to share my love for math with you and show that learning math can be both fun and rewarding. I get a lot of satisfaction from seeing my students grow in confidence and understanding, and it motivates me to continue tutoring. What makes me different is that I’m not just focused on getting the right answers—I care about helping you truly understand the “why” behind everything. My goal is to make sure you feel supported, confident, and excited to learn!

About the lesson

As a high school student and math tutor, I believe in making learning simple, interactive, and confidence-building. I understand how challenging math can feel at times, so I focus on explaining concepts in a way that’s easy to understand, using relatable examples and step-by-step guidance.

Teaching Techniques & Methods:
1. I break down each topic into small, manageable parts to avoid overwhelming the student.

2. I use everyday examples and visuals when needed to help with understanding.

3. I encourage questions and make sure the student feels comfortable asking anything, no matter how small.

4. I believe in consistent practice, so I assign short, focused exercises to strengthen understanding.

As a student myself, I relate easily to younger learners and understand how to explain things in a way that makes sense to them.

I’m patient, encouraging, and committed to helping each student feel confident in math.

I create a positive, pressure-free environment where learning feels rewarding and fun.
