Hi there, folks!
My philosophy on teaching revolves around a place-based working technique. The goal is to connect students with what is familiar to them in order to better engage with new material. I enjoy helping students see how their favorite everyday activities relate to all levels of science! Some of my favorite activities include exploring the bioenergetics of TikTok diets, examining form and function through the anatomy of a tree, and studying the ecology of the backyard.
I have spent two years teaching high school biology and chemistry, along with one year teaching AP Environmental Science. In total, I have three years of experience teaching students in grades 7-12.
