I have been teaching high school math for 3 years, tutoring SAT/ACT math for 2 years, and have a Master of Public Health degree. I have a real ability to explain complex topics in an understandable way.

I have been teaching high school math for 3 years. I aim to really explain the "why" rather than having students memorize steps/formulas. Students describe me as approachable, down-to-earth, and able to explain math in a very understandable way.
I have a thorough knowledge of FL B.E.S.T. standards for Geometry and Algebra 1, and have plenty of extra materials in these subjects ready to use in tutoring sessions.
In sessions, I typically 1) Explain the concept 2) model several problems 3) give students several practice problems 4) assess what skills students are proficient in vs needing more work 5) create several more customized problems to target weaker areas.
I have also had great success tutoring SAT and ACT math. I am available to tutor via Zoom or in person.
