About Annie

I'm Annie. I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in mathematics from Concordia University, Irvine. I also earned my teaching credential and Master’s degree in education from Concordia. I eventually returned to school to get my Master's degree in Mathematics at Cal State Long Beach.

I am in my 23rd year of teaching math in high school and have taught almost every math subject offered at my school, including AP Calculus AB and BC. I am also in my 6th year as an adjunct professor and have taught college algebra, trigonometry, pre-calculus, and calculus 1. Although I am new to Superprof, I also have many years of tutoring experience, starting from my senior year in high school until today.

About the lesson

My tutoring lessons will depend on the needs of the students. If they just want homework help, I have them do the problems and will address any issues they have. If they cannot do a particular problem, I will show them an example similar to it and then have them try the problem. If students are looking for a tutor to teach concepts they don’t understand, I create problems in those concepts to I teach them and then we will work together to complete other problems. I try to see where the students are struggling and help them understand the concepts so they can apply them to problems in the future. I also try to fill in gaps in their previous knowledge that they need to complete current concepts if I notice any. Since I work in both high school and college, I can tutor for both lower levels and upper level course.

I was able to work on some unit 7 topics with Kevin. There was one topic that he didn't seem to fully understand from the course, but was able to understand it after I went over it with him. He seems to learn things quickly, but I think he has trouble pinpointing what he knows and does not know.
