About Ellia

It is my mission to provide students with accessible tutoring that aids them in excelling at any level. I have always had a passion for English and desire to instill that same enjoyment and understanding in other learners.

My credentials:
1). 4.6 weighted high school GPA as a junior
2). Completion of honors and college English classes
3). Perfect English and reading ACT scores.
4). Experience with tutoring my peers!

About the lesson

My lessons are targeted primarily towards elementary, middle, and high school students. My goal is to provide low pressure, enjoyable, educational, and fast-paced lessons for optimal growth/learning. Included below are the typical lesson plans and structure of my courses.

Grammar:
(Elementary School)
Basic parts of speech and punctuation-> additional parts of speech, basic verb tenses, and basic sentence structure
(Middle School)
phrases/clauses, sentence types (structural and tonal), diagramming, prepositions, advanced punctuation, advanced capitalization, and correct word choice (ex: affect or effect)
(High School)
targeted review and mastery of the categories of your choice

Spelling:
(Elementary School)
foundational phonics rules, consonants, vowels, consonant blending and digraphs (ex: “br” and “ch”), and silent letters-> vowel groups, suffixes, homophones, prefixes, and plurals
(Middle School)
advanced silent letters, word roots/origin (Greek or Latin), vocabulary, hard or soft letters
(High School)
common spelling mistakes, correct word choice, proofreading, etymology, foreign loanwords, difficult spelling rules, and advanced vocabulary

Writing:
(Elementary School)
complete sentences, handwriting, and narrative-> paragraphs, essay genres, word choice, and writing process
(Middle School)
essay writing, revision, transitions, evidence, thesis writing
(High School)
long essays, researching, synthesis, voice, analysis, and timed writing
