About Karla
I am a high school English teacher with 20 years of teaching experience in elementary and secondary education. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s in Reading Education. I currently teach 10th grade AICE English General Paper and have taught English Honors as well.
I work with students to help them better understand grade level content, provide remediation as needed, and focus on the standards that are important for success on standardized assessments in their high school years. I ensure students have the tools i.e. skills and strategies they need to help them succeed! I love seeing students learn, grow and develop into more proficient readers.
