I am a very patient, understanding and especially committed person, especially when it comes to my own, and others education. I like to learn, and therefore teach in a flexible way. Specifically (depending on the nature of the subject), working through examples, brain storming and developing concepts for a thorough understanding, working through worksheets and sample questions.
I do not like to 'teach', rather I prefer to facilitate the student to arrive at the answer themselves, however, if they are struggling I am able to offer a final answer and explanation.
In my experience, I have found that when students are new to a concept (like in the classroom) 'teaching' works best, however when looking to develop a better and deeper understanding, and for students who are struggling to understand concepts, this method is less effective. Instead, helping the student understand, and genuinely engage with the content, is a better approach then simply explaining or reteaching the content.
