About Taylor
Hello! My name is Taylor, and though I am still in my final year of school, I can't wait to begin my journey as a tutor and eventually a teacher. I am patient, understanding, structured, and eager to help!
As a child, my mom would listen to me talk for hours about what I learned at school today. In primary school, when I finished my work before my peers, I remember I would walk around the classroom helping anyone who was still going or was stuck on a question. I looked up to my amazing teachers, and one day realized I wanted to be just like them.
I was born in Sydney and spent my early years at a Sydney private school before relocating to Cairns as a teenager. I know what it is like to both struggle and excel at school, and I will help you wherever you are in your journey.

I really believe a tutor should be focused and dedicated to their student, and should strive to understand how their student uniquely learns in order to work in a way that is tailored to suit their needs and make them feel supported.
Personally, as a tutor, I believe in active lessons with engaging explanations. I don't give up, and I promise to teach you in as many different ways as you need until you are confident in your independent understanding. My aim is to ensure that you learn the content you are given at school at your own pace, and teach you the techniques needed in your upcoming worksheets or exams.
I currently tutor in all primary or high-school subjects Year 10 and below, including all types of math, English, history, geography, music, drama, business, and more. Feel free to tell me exactly what you need help in, or to ask for all-round school assistance!
As for Year 11 students, I specialise in content for Chemistry, Maths Methods, English/Literature, Modern/Ancient History, French, and German.
I have experience tutoring high school and have been tutoring a high school student for over a year. I also volunteered as a teacher's aide for a local Cairns primary school, and I can confidently say that I will happily teach all ages.
Online lessons can last for any amount of time from just 30mins+. In-person lessons may last whatever timeframe fits you, from 45mins-3+ hours. I will happily answer homework or assignment questions over text or call whenever you need. Online lessons can be taught over Zoom, Microsoft Teams, phone calls, or whatever is suitable for you. In-person lesson locations are flexible and negotiable.
