About Simon
I am a friendly but demanding A-level tutor with a fund of real-life stories to bring Biology to life! I start from where the student is and find their learning style. Then we can approach the concepts and vocabulary in a way that is relevant and targeted. I use online and paper-based exercises to reinforce the essential core knowledge. Past paper practice is essential but not sufficient to succeed.
My tutoring is questioning, methodical and supportive so that the student can achieve their true potential. It is based on more than 10 years of classroom practice in both the state and private sectors and 15 years of both in-person and online tutoring.
My message to students is that there will be a learning style that works for you. Let's find it and achieve success together!

I tutor using the Pencil Spaces online learning environment. It allows me to introduce a variety of resources, incuding video and online simulations that students find most helpful when exploring how biological processes work. We also look at contemporary applications of biological principles.
