About NUR

I understand that when choosing a tutor, students and parents are looking for someone who is not only knowledgeable, but also reliable, patient, and professional. I take that responsibility seriously.

Mathematics and Physics are subjects that require deep conceptual understanding, logical reasoning, and disciplined practice. As a Data Science student, I work daily with calculus, statistics, algebra, and analytical problem-solving. This means I do not simply teach memorization techniques — I teach students how to think clearly, structure their solutions properly, and approach problems with confidence.

About the lesson

My name is Najla, and I am currently a second-year Data Science student at UNSW Australia, with a strong academic background in Mathematics and Physics. I excelled in both subjects during high school and continue to apply advanced mathematical and analytical concepts in my university studies.

My Teaching Approach & Methodology

My tutoring approach is concept-focused, structured, and personalised. I believe students perform best when they truly understand the “why” behind formulas and methods — not just memorising steps.

I usually follow this structure:

Concept Breakdown – I explain topics in simple, clear language and connect them to real-life examples where possible.

Guided Practice – We work through questions together step-by-step to build confidence.

Independent Practice – Students attempt questions on their own while I guide and correct mistakes immediately.

Exam Strategy & Problem-Solving Techniques – I teach shortcuts, time management skills, and common exam traps.

I also adjust my teaching style based on the student’s learning pace. For stronger students, I focus on higher-order thinking and challenging problems. For students who need more support, I reinforce foundations and build confidence gradually.

Typical Lesson Length

• Standard lessons are 1 to 2 hours
• 1 hour – Focused revision or homework help
• 2 hours – Deep concept learning + exam practice

Longer sessions are recommended before exams for intensive preparation.

My Qualifications & Experience

• Second-year Data Science student at UNSW Australia
• Strong academic results in Mathematics and Physics during high school
• Experienced in advanced mathematical thinking, statistics, and analytical problem-solving
• Comfortable teaching both calculation-heavy and theory-based topics

My degree requires strong logical reasoning, programming, statistics, and mathematical modelling — which allows me to teach not just how to solve questions, but how to think critically.
