About Sreejit

My name is Sreejit, and I am an academically advanced student-athlete with experience balancing high-level athletics and strong academics. Being involved in competitive sports has taught me discipline, patience, consistency, and how to perform under pressure, qualities I bring into teaching as well.

I understand that every student learns differently, and I believe struggling with a concept does not mean someone is “bad at math.” Often, it just means they have not had it explained in the right way yet. My goal is to make math feel less overwhelming by simplifying concepts and helping students build confidence step by step.

I have experience working with younger students through coaching, which has helped me develop patience and clear communication skills. Because I am closer in age to my students than many tutors, I can often explain topics in ways that are easier to relate to and understand.

I teach elementary and middle school math up to 8th grade, focusing on building strong foundations, improving grades, and helping students become more confident learners over time.

About the lesson

I teach math by focusing on understanding concepts rather than memorizing steps. My goal is to break difficult topics into smaller, easier pieces so students build confidence and can solve problems independently. I know math can become frustrating, especially when concepts move quickly, so I try to explain ideas in multiple ways until they make sense.

A typical lesson would start by identifying what the student is struggling with, reviewing any confusing concepts, and then working through examples together. After that, I would guide the student through similar problems independently while helping with mistakes and explaining the reasoning behind each step. I also believe practice is important, so I would end sessions with a few problems to reinforce understanding.

What sets me apart is that I am an academically advanced student-athlete who understands balancing school, sports, and discipline. I have experience coaching younger students, which taught me patience and how to explain things clearly. Because I am closer in age to my students, I can often explain concepts in ways that feel less intimidating and easier to understand.

My lessons are best for elementary and middle school students, up to 8th grade math, including topics such as arithmetic, pre-algebra, and Algebra 1 concepts. I aim to help students improve grades, build confidence, and become more comfortable with math over time.
