About Raiza
One of my favorite parts of university has been helping classmates prepare for exams and hearing them suddenly say,
"Wait... I get it now."
That's why I decided to start tutoring.
I'm currently completing a Master of Pharmaceutical Science at Monash University after graduating in Biotechnology & Biochemical Engineering. I've always enjoyed math and science, but I've realized I enjoy explaining them just as much.
I'm naturally curious, so I tend to ask a lot of "why?" questions myself. I like understanding how things work instead of memorizing formulas, and that's the approach I bring into my lessons too.
By the time exams come around, I'm usually one of the people classmates message when they're stuck on a math problem or a difficult chemistry or biology topic. Sometimes all someone needs is a different explanation, a bit more patience, or the chance to ask the question they were too embarrassed to ask in class.
I know that asking for help can feel intimidating, especially when you've convinced yourself you're "just not good" at a subject. I never want my lessons to feel like that. Students should feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, changing their minds and taking the time they need to understand something properly. There's no pressure to get everything right the first time.
Outside university, I enjoy exploring Melbourne, trying new cafés, watching documentaries and spending time with family and friends. I think learning works best when people feel relaxed, supported and comfortable, and that's exactly the kind of environment I try to create in every lesson.
Whether you're aiming for top marks, preparing for VCE or simply hoping math and science feel a little less overwhelming, I'd love to help you get there.

There's one sentence I hear surprisingly often.
"I'm just not a math person."
Or sometimes it's science.
I honestly don't believe that's true.
Usually, they just haven't come across the explanation that works for them.
That's how I approach tutoring.
If algebra isn't making sense, we'll sketch it out. Chemistry starting to feel like a long list of reactions? We'll look for the patterns instead. Physics can feel overwhelming at first, so we'll unpack it piece by piece until it becomes manageable. Understanding always comes before memorizing.
Helping classmates prepare for exams has honestly been one of the most rewarding parts of university for me. There's always a point where you can see the frustration disappear and hear, "Wait.... I actually get it now." Those moments are the reason I enjoy teaching. It's never about giving someone the answer; it's about helping them discover it.
Most lessons run for around 60 minutes, but the structure depends on what the student needs that week. We might revisit a difficult topic from class, prepare for an upcoming assessment, work through homework together or strengthen the basics before moving on. Questions are always encouraged. Sometimes the best progress comes from asking the question a student almost didn't ask.
I'm currently completing a Master of Pharmaceutical Science at Monash University after graduating in Biotechnology & Biochemical Engineering. I achieved 99.4% in my senior secondary examinations across Advanced Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology, and I continue working with many of these concepts throughout my postgraduate studies.
Professional tutoring may be new for me, but explaining STEM concepts isn't. Throughout university, classmates regularly asked me for help before assessments, and I naturally found myself organizing study sessions, breaking down difficult ideas and explaining the same concept in different ways until it clicked.
I offer online tutoring for Years P–10 Mathematics and General Science, along with Years 11–12 Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics.
The goal is simple. Every student should finish a lesson feeling more confident than when they started.
