About Ted
As the son of a lifelong educator, teaching and tutoring have always held a special place in my heart. Growing up surrounded by the passion and dedication my mother brought to her teaching career, I witnessed first-hand the transformative impact of education. Her journey from being a teacher to a successful tutor has inspired me to continue tutoring in a part-time capacity alongside my professional career. I am drawn to tutoring not only as a means to share my knowledge and expertise but also as a way to contribute to the growth and development of others. The joy of seeing students grasp complex concepts and witness their confidence soar is a reward in itself. My own academic background in French and Russian, coupled with diverse tutoring experiences across subjects and age groups, has equipped me with the skills to cater to individual learning needs. Through tutoring, I aim to create a positive and supportive learning environment, adapting to the unique preferences and challenges of each student. I am motivated to empower others with the skills and confidence they need to succeed academically. I'm a patient and effective communicator, committed to enhancing not only your proficiency in the target subject but also fostering overall confidence in the discipline. Recognising diverse learning approaches, I tailor lessons to your unique needs following our initial consultation. Whilst my academic background is in French and Russian, my degree equipped me with versatile skills across the humanities, making me an effective tutor in various subjects. I've also successfully provided maths and science tutoring up to GCSE level, accommodating all ages and abilities between 7-18. Additionally, I've assisted undergraduate students with proofreading sessions. Having served as an au pair in France for nearly a year, caring for and teaching children aged 0-7, I am open to early-age tutoring if beneficial for your child. Typically, my lessons run for 60 minutes, but I can extend them as needed. Choosing the right tutor is crucial for academic success, so please feel free to message me for an initial introduction call, either for yourself or on behalf of your child.
