About Roy
I'm a sophomore at Georgia Tech. I have a professional certification in solidworks and I have participated in several competition level student engineering projects. I don't have any professional tutoring experiences thus far but I have a lot of experience helping my peers. During high school I got a perfect score on the SAT Math and Math 2 subject test and a 5 in AP Physics C and Calculus AB. In addition, I am author of the #1 rated guide for Kerbal Space Program where I explained the basic physics behind rocket science and orbital mechanics. When I teach, I try to form relationships between concepts as I believe these connections are what makes information stay in your brain. When I teach, I don't just give you formulas and tell you how to use them, I will teach you how to derive them from its very definition. The foundation of most of these physics or mathematical concepts are actually really simple, and I am a firm believer that once you grasp the basics and know where things come from and why, you will be able to master the subject matter. I don't spend a lot of time studying math or physics, and frankly I don't think anyone who is successful in these areas do. We don't study much, instead, we take the time to think things through and make those connections. To me, learning isn't just about passing those classes, it is about being able to retain that knowledge and being able to apply them at a higher level.
