About Adeena Ali
I am a year 11 student at King Edward`s VI Camp Hill School for Girls, predicted grade 9 (A*) in all twelve subjects at GCSE and currently studying for grade eight piano. Lessons can be done either online via Zoom or at my house depending on which the student is more comfortable with. I am currently tutoring three students and hope to take on a few more over the course of the next year.
Having started tutoring during the January lockdown of 2021, so far I have tutored GCSE pupils in science and music theory, having helped to improve grades by three levels. I have received the physics prize awarded by my school for exceptional grades as well as having achieved a distinction in the ABRSM music theory qualification.
I also recently have started tutoring in the English section of the 11+ exam. Having sat and prepared for the exam myself, I am well aware of how to best prepare and perform in it. I consider myself a literature aficionado, having had my work published which has enabled me to be accepted into the prestigious PPE programme run by Oxford University for young people.

I am committed to making my sessions memorable, engaging and efficient... quite unlike the typical classroom experience at most U.K schools!
My biggest priority is ensuring that students acquire a holistic understanding and grasp of a concept - this in my view, is much more important and beneficial than mindlessly rote-learning information from a textbook. I understand that every student learns differently and am more than happy to accommodate for this, by encouraging active student participation, using a range of resources as well as tailored exam questions. Having studied the GCSE courses in detail, I am well-aware of what it requires to achieve the highest possible grades in the most efficient way.
This thinking also applies to piano lessons: I hope to foster an appreciation for composers' music within my students as well as help them to gain technical accuracy and become better players. I play a wide range of repertoire across the ABRSM syllabus and am happy to teach any genre that a student feels inclined towards.
I am available to tutor:
- students up to GCSE level in English literature/ language, sciences (biology, chemistry and physics) and music.
- students preparing for 11+ examinations
- complete piano beginners or players up to grade 5
