About Alexis
I am a sophomore at Florida Atlantic University where I am pursuing a B.S in biology and a minor in business. Personally, taking lessons for classes you're struggling with is very important. Specifically in math and science it is very easy to get behind. I think there are ways to make lessons fun especially with younger kids and have them learning in a way that is productive for them.

When teaching students I like for them to learn in a way that works best for them. I try to adjust and adapt each of my lessons based on how the student retains information. The most common way I hold a session is starting by working out a problem and showing the student step by step how to solve the problem. Then the student tries and uses me as a resource when they get stuck. Once the student is needing less of my help I have the student try the problem completely on their own and then reviewed with me afterward. I also like to focus on what the student is struggling with the most first and then work on stuff they are more confident in. The lessons I teach are for students struggling in particularly math and science courses. I tutor anywhere from Pre-K to high school level and introduction classes in college.
