About Sanni

Although my educational background is in law, I have a longstanding passion for mathematics, physics, and programming - as manifested by the fact that I completed two years of undergraduate mathematics degree studies at the University of Helsinki whilst I was a student at law school. I worked as a programmer at the UCL Student Union and a FinTech firm, before assuming my current position an executive at a HealthTech start-up. I have a good grasp of practical applications of mathematical and physical concepts and hands-on experience with several programming languages. This makes me qualified to teach these three subjects up to university level. I am ambitious with my personal goals and believe in the importance of physical and mental well-being. As a former professional equestrian athlete in showjumping currently venturing into polo, I lead a disciplined, healthy, and growth-oriented lifestyle. I thus believe that, in addition to offering excellent academic support, I can be a positive and encouraging role model for you or your child.

About the lesson

I start my session by spending time observing the student’s thought patterns and identifying their thought patterns - what they excel at, what they struggle with. I then take the student through drills that specifically address their weaker points to build a routine in problem-solving. Where the student gives an incorrect answer, I ask them to break down their reasoning for me, identify what kind of an underlying pattern yields to incorrect answers, and give them detailed instructions on how to approach questions of the same kind in the future. In the past, I have had particular success with students who struggle with learning disabilities and/or low confidence. As someone with ADHD myself, I can easily identify the typical thought patterns that neuroatypical students often exhibit and offer effective guidance in overcoming them. I am also able to suggest strategies for more effective studying that I myself have used to achieve high marks in my degree studies.
