About Evan
As a Health Science student and aspiring educator, I am committed to both academic rigor and professional development. My passion for research is demonstrated by my work investigating the host range of Bacteriophages and by completing a competitive undergraduate research internship in Host-Microbe Interactions at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. In addition to my scientific pursuits, I am an accomplished NCAA Track & Field athlete with numerous honors. This competitive background has instilled in me the discipline, focus, and mentorship skills necessary to excel as a tutor and future teacher.

I believe in the art of learning! As a scientist, I want to help you think as if you are a scientist.
Tactile Learning is the most effective way to learn science. A writing-based approach to learning concepts. If you are looking at a metabolic pathway, then let's draw it out and make sure we see the connections. When looking at diagrams, let's label them and see the key points. Finally, I believe in "teach it back": write out the concepts in a summary paragraph, so that you can recall the information on the exam date.
These lessons are for college students and upper-level high school students looking for some extra guidance. I want to be a connection for young scientists!
