About Leah
I have always enjoyed teaching and supporting others with their learning. During my own degree, I understand how challenging it can feel when you are trying to absorb large amounts of anatomy, theory and clinical information all at once. At times, I wished I had someone I could turn to for one-to-one support to help simplify concepts and connect different areas of the course.
As a relatively recent graduate, I have a strong understanding of how complex the medical and anatomical world can initially feel. My aim is to help make difficult topics more approachable by breaking them down into simpler ideas and linking them to practical clinical examples.
Although I am not a formally qualified teacher, I bring recent academic experience combined with real clinical musculoskeletal practice, which allows me to explain concepts in a way that is relevant for current students.
I aim to create a friendly and supportive learning environment where you feel comfortable asking questions. There are no “stupid” questions, and I recognise that physiotherapy is not always black and white. Many topics involve clinical reasoning and understanding uncertainty, and part of learning is becoming more confident in navigating this.
Teaching also helps me continue to develop my own knowledge and clinical reasoning, which means I remain engaged with current concepts and committed to continuous improvement.
My goal is to help you feel more confident in your understanding and better able to apply what you are learning in your degree.

Teaching methodology
My teaching approach adapts to your learning style. Sessions can be visual, repetition-based, or focused on simplifying complex terminology into clear, understandable concepts.
Many physiotherapy and sports science students find it difficult to connect different topics across their degree. I aim to help you piece together anatomy, biomechanics and clinical assessment so the information becomes more practical and easier to remember.
We can focus on:
- specific body regions (e.g. shoulder, knee, lumbar spine)
- understanding anatomy in a clinically relevant way
- breaking down assessment processes step-by-step
- linking theory to clinical reasoning
- recognising red flags and yellow flags
- simplifying complex lecture material
Sessions are tailored to your goals, whether you want to strengthen weak areas or consolidate overall understanding.
Lesson length
Typical session length is 45 minutes, allowing focused learning without overload. Longer sessions may be arranged if required.
Qualifications and experience
I hold:
BSc Sports Rehabilitation
MSc Physiotherapy
I have 2 years of private musculoskeletal (MSK) clinical experience, working with:
- general population injuries
- sports-related injuries
- exercise-based rehabilitation
- return to activity planning
My background in sport also helps me explain concepts in a practical and applied way.
