About Jonathan
I have 6 years experience tutoring students between Year 10 and Year 13 with a variety of achievement levels.
I achieved a 1st class master's degree (MSci) at King's College London, and am about to complete my PGCE in Secondary Mathematics Teaching at the University of Oxford.
I also have a history of Youth Work, having worked on many waves of the National Citizens Service over the past 4 years.

I believe maths is more about developing a particular way of thinking rather than simply increasing your knowledge. In 1-1 sessions I will often conduct some short exposition/discussion with the student to look at the mathematical content, with the session being very student-centred after this.
With group sessions, I am more of a facilitator than a educator - students learn more and better from each other, and so my focus is to get students working collaboratively and cooperatively with my help where necessary rather than me taking the lead role in the group.
