About Shiladitya

Listen Before You Lead: People rarely change their minds when they feel misunderstood. Before delivering your argument, ask open-ended questions to understand their underlying priorities, fears, and motivations. Frame your points around their goals rather than your own.
Anchor in Shared Values: Start with points of agreement. Establishing a foundation of shared goals—such as safety, efficiency, or mutual success—lowers defensiveness and creates an environment of trust.
Use the Power of Socratic Questioning: Instead of telling someone why they are wrong, guide them with targeted questions. Asking questions like "What would happen if we tried X instead?" or "What is the biggest risk you see with the current approach?" allows the other person to reach your intended conclusion independently.
Balance Logic (Logos) with Emotion (Pathos): Data and logical frameworks build credibility, but emotions drive decisions. Pair key facts or metrics with a clear, relatable story or practical real-world outcome.
Keep the Exit Frame Low-Risk: Reduce friction by proposing small, reversible commitments. Suggesting a temporary trial, a pilot phase, or a minor step reduces the perceived risk of saying "yes."
