About Kathy
I am a mother and grandmother, and of course also a teacher. These things are connected in the best way. Every day I look for ways to engage my students in the world around us, making those connections between what we are learning and the world we are learning in. My students know that I have a plan for them and that I care about them as individuals...in fact sometimes it's hard to start the day because they all want to tell me their stories! I love meeting my students where they are, and giving them opportunities to learn and grow, both in their language and also in their worldview.

When I teach I make sure there is a real context for my lessons. Vocabulary and grammar are incorporated into situations so that students have a reason to learn and practice them. For example, within a project of doing a weather forecast, students will learn geography, numbers, and how to express these.This can be tailored to any level and give opportunities to write and express themselves in French. I enjoy providing my students with opportunities to use language in real contexts.
