Have you ever wanted to write for the screen but not known where to start? Do you want to understand how stories work and what tools you need to tell them? Do you have an idea for a film or TV drama but aren't sure how to get started? I can help. With over 20 years' experience in the TV and Film industry, I've helped writers just starting out and worked on shows like Britannia and Fortitude (Sky Atlantic) and Boiling Point (BBC). I've worked for independent production companies like World Productions and Eleventh Hour Films as well as the BBC and Channel 4. At C4 I worked across series like Shameless and Skins as well as curating new talent schemes Coming Up and 4Screenwriting. I have a broad and deep understanding of the screenwriting process from inception to production, am dedicated to helping writers achieve their best work and am a supportive and insightful mentor and guide. I'm here to help you achieve the best version of your idea, taking into account your experience, goals and ambition. I'm not prescriptive about the process, but I will advise and guide you through the process of shaping your idea or revising your script. We'll explore character, structure and theme and I can also help with more industry-facing documents like pitches, treatments and series outline. I will tailor all lessons to your specific needs.
