About Richard
I am a Mathematician holding a Masters degree specialising in pure maths and algebraic topology. In my masters year I tutored classes of undergraduate students to help with homework problems and covering lecture material in more detail. Always punctual and enthusiastic!

I focus my teaching on developing an intuitive understanding of how problem solving methods work rather than just repeating and memorising processes. By really understanding the idea behind methods, students only need to remember a couple of broad concepts instead of a laundry list of individual steps. It is also much more flexible when students encounter trickier questions where the normal processes need to be adapted slightly.
Every student likes to think about these broader concepts in a different way and I love finding new ways to explain them which best suits the student.
