About Charis
I am passionate about Italy, its language, food, culture, history, art...in fact, I moved here from America 9 years ago to study at the Fine Art Academy in Rome and have have never turned back! I supported myself by teaching English privately both individually and in groups as well as teaching part time at Kids and Us, a private school focused on teaching children English. I have continued to give private lessons throughout the years as well as taught freelance at several schools throughout Rome to people of all age levels and capacities. I am currently working on earning my 300 hour TEFL certification.

I understand how difficult it can seem to learn a new language as an adult, and that is why I like to approach my lessons with humor and ease. I like to make my students laugh and feel comfortable to make a lot of mistakes - because it is through mistakes that we learn! I also encourage a lot of conversation, as I have found that many students have a scholastic understanding of the English language; however, they lack the practical use of it.
