I have been tutoring high school Mathematics since 2014. I hold an Honours degree in Applied Mathematics from Stellenbosch University.

About Nina
I offer personalised online Mathematics lessons where each learner can work at a pace and level of difficulty that they can confidently master.
I use electronic exercises displayed directly on the whiteboard, together with a range of custom-developed electronic teaching tools that I have created myself. Rather than simply giving a learner a formula to apply, I teach them which mathematical tool to choose and how to recognise when and why it should be used.
Every learner is different, so I adapt the lesson to suit the learner’s individual needs, understanding and pace. And when appropriate, I incorporate games and interactive activities to make learning Mathematics more enjoyable.
I am passionate about teaching Mathematics, but I also have many interests outside the classroom. I love music and play the violin, enjoy mountain hiking and reading, and I am passionate about healthy eating.
My three children are now young adults, and my husband and I live in the heart of beautiful Zululand, KwaZulu-Natal.
I have a reliable fibre internet connection, and importantly, load shedding does not bring my online classes to a halt.

I work with learners across the full spectrum of abilities — from those who need extra patience, encouragement and support to overcome fear or frustration in Mathematics, to high-performing learners who want to tackle as many challenging problems as possible in the shortest time, building the confidence and speed they need for demanding examinations.
I begin each lesson with the fundamentals of the topic at hand, making sure that the learner has a solid understanding of the basics. We then progress to straightforward applications before moving on to more advanced problems, always according to the learner’s individual pace, ability and needs.
After each lesson, I provide the learner with a PDF copy of the whiteboard notes, giving them a useful record to refer to when studying or revising.
Lessons are available in both Afrikaans and English.
